We don't do new garage construction - framing an opening, pouring a slab, or building a structure for a door to go into. That's a different trade, and we'd rather point you elsewhere than take a job we're not set up for.
We also don't carry every spring and track size on the truck for every job. Aiken's housing runs older - median build year around 1974 - and some of that hardware was discontinued years ago. If your door needs a part that isn't a stock item, we'll tell you up front that it has to be ordered, rather than pretend we can fix it on the first visit.
We don't do cosmetic work with no mechanical purpose - repainting a door that opens and closes fine, or swapping out trim for looks. If the door works, we're not going to invent a problem to justify a visit.
And we don't guess at pricing over the phone for anything beyond the simplest, most common jobs. A bent track, a stripped gear, a bad photo-eye sensor - those we can usually quote once we hear the symptoms. Anything that sounds unusual gets a real look before we say a number, because on a house with original hardware from the 1960s or 70s, what looks like one problem is sometimes two.
